Chapter 24 - R.i.p. Syd
Alla fine anche lui il buon Roger "Syd" Barrett, ci ha lasciato. Il diamante pazzo che era fuggito dalla luce dei riflettori abbandonando i Pink Floyd all' indomani della realizzazione del loro secondo album "A saucerful of secrets" (al quale peraltro aveva contribuito con un solo brano "Jugband blues") non sara' piu' importunato da fotografi in cerca di scoop nelle sue rare uscite per le vie di Cambridge...
Le cause della morte non sono ancora state divulgate, anche se si sapeva gia' tempo che soffrisse di diabete, se ne volete sapere di piu' eccovi la fonte .
Parlare in poche righe del genio di Barrett sarebbe un' offesa imperdonabile, si potrebbero chiedere delucidazioni in merito alle centinaia di musicisti influenzati negli ultimi 40 anni dal genio di Syd, su tutti Robyn Hitchcock ad esempio. L' unica cosa che mi resta da fare e' riascoltare il mastodontico "Piper at the gates of dawn"quasi interamente farina del suo sacco, e i suoi album solisti, i poetici e scarni "Madcap laugh" e "Barrett". Onestamente sono ancora parecchio scosso...e non saprei cosa altro dire.
